 Sheila M. Flaherty, OTR/L, CHT
Biography:
Born in Hamilton, Ontario Canada, Ms. Flaherty moved to Florida in 1967. She graduated from the University of Florida in 1979
with a Bachelor of Health Science Degree in Occupational Therapy. Following graduation, she became Nationally Certified as a
Registered Occupational Therapist. During her early years of practice Md. Flaherty developed a special interest in hand
rehabilitation and a desire for advanced competency. In 1991 she was awarded National Board Certification in Hand Therapy by
the Hand Therapy Certification Commission. With attaining a highest professional credential in this specialty of Hand and
Upper Extremity Rehabilitation, Ms. Flaherty became Charlotte County's first Certified Hand Therapist. Ms. Flaherty brings to
her work a dedicated and commitment to reach and maintain the highest standards in her profession.
