Dr. Kaler, licensed to practice in the State of Florida and Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery as been
providing state of the art orthopaedic services in his privately owned practice since 1983. He is an active staff physician in
the Department of Surgery with two of the largest hospitals in Port Charlotte, Peace River Regional Medical Center and Fawcett
Memorial Hospital. Dr. Kaler is very active at both hospitals either in staff position or serving on committees. He has been
Chief of Staff, Chairman of the Department of Surgery, Chairman of Utilization Review Committee, Vice President of Medical Staff
served on the Credential Committee and Surgical Care Evaluation Committee.
Dr. Kaler received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry/Biology from Murray State University, Murray Kentucky, his Doctor
of Medicine Degree from University of Louisville, Louisville Kentucky, Surgical Internship at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Memphis
Tennessee. He was a Fellow in Orthopaedic Surgery at W.C. Campbell Clinic in Memphis Tennessee and had a Fellowship in Spinal
Surgery at Southern Illinois University, Springfield, Illinois.
Continuing education is ongoing for Dr. Kaler. He continues to attend seminars, trainings and workshops to keep abreast of current patient care standards and surgical techniques as well as Quality Added Utilization Review and Risk Management information.
Dr. Kaler is a member of the Charlotte County Medical Society, Florida Medical Society, American Medical Association, Southern Medical Association, Southern Orthopaedic Association, W.C. Campbell Club, Florida Physicians Association, Inc., American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American College of Surgeons and the Charlotte County Chamber of Commerce.
In his free time Dr. Kaler’s favorite things to do are motorcycling and growing roses.
